About Me
I’m Emma Marshall and I bring over 25 years of experience in NHS pharmacy and clinical research into my work as a Five Element acupuncturist. Acupuncture has been a key part of my own health and wellbeing journey, and it’s what inspired me to train and share its benefits with others. My clinic is based at FarmEco Community Care Farm in Screveton, Nottinghamshire – a quiet, rural setting that provides a calm and welcoming space for you to feel at ease and get back to feeling like yourself again.

I studied Five Element Acupuncture at the International College of Acupuncture in Oxford, under the expert guidance of Michael Baker and Paul Adkins. Five Element Acupuncture focuses on treating the whole person – mind, body and spirit – by addressing imbalances at their root. My approach combines the traditional techniques of Five Element Acupuncture alongside a solid understanding of modern healthcare.

At Forest Acupuncture, I offer treatments tailored to your individual needs, with particular interest and expertise in supporting mental health, pain management, fertility, women’s health, and teenage health. I also offer cosmetic acupuncture for those looking for a natural approach to skin health and rejuvenation.

I hold full medical malpractice and public liability insurance cover, and I am licensed with Nottinghamshire County Council. I’m also registered with The Acupuncture Society, as well as being a registered Facial Enhancement Acupuncture practitioner. Most importantly, I offer a calm, supportive and safe space where you can feel truly heard, cared for and on the path to feeling your best.

About Five Element Acupuncture
Five Element Acupuncture is a traditional form of Chinese medicine that focuses on treating the whole person – body, mind and spirit. It’s based on the idea that we are all made up of five natural elements: Wood, Fire, Earth, Metal and Water. These elements exist in nature and within us, influencing our physical health, emotions and overall sense of wellbeing.

When these elements are in balance, we feel well, resilient and connected. But when one or more elements are out of balance -due to stress, illness, trauma or lifestyle factors – it can lead to symptoms such as anxiety, fatigue, pain or hormonal issues.

Five Element Acupuncture works by identifying the root imbalance (your “causative factor”) and gently restoring harmony through carefully chosen acupuncture points. Rather than just treating symptoms, it aims to bring long-lasting change by supporting your body’s natural ability to heal and rebalance.
This approach is deeply individual, making it ideal for those looking for a holistic, personalised treatment that supports not just physical symptoms but emotional wellbeing and inner health too.

Modern research supports the effectiveness of acupuncture for a range of conditions, including chronic pain, anxiety and fertility support. It is also recommended by the NHS for certain conditions such as migraines and chronic pain, reflecting its growing acceptance within mainstream healthcare.
